In my previous post, I spoke about the various themes of early retirement. One of them is to live healthily, or “live well”. An interesting subject I’ve encountered was life expectancy – how long will I live?
Aside from the fun of seeing your life expectancy number, it’s also an important tool if you want to plan your life – you need to make sure you have enough money for your whole life before you retire. And for that, you need to at least guesstimate how long that’s going to be.
Abaris used to have a really nice calculator for life expectancy. Here’s my overview:

The calculator provides some insights on how that number was calculated, and even suggests a few things you can do to improve your result. For me, there isn’t a lot I can do – I should basically drink more, and exercise more. I wonder if I can do both at the same time…
